Odors That Trigger Migraines
One of the most common misconceptions people have towards migraines is that they are simply a strong headache. Although certainly more powerful than the average headache, symptoms of migraine can not only be extremely painful but even debilitating to someone going through one. Unfortunately, people don’t know when or how strong their next migraine is going to be. However, throughout the years, studies and personal testimonies have narrowed down a list of odors that are common migraine triggers: 1. Perfumes It’s no secret that the perfume aisle at a department store can be overwhelming. However, for those who suffer from migraines, it can be a downright nightmare. Due to the strong chemicals added to perfume, the scent will often trigger a migraine within seconds of a person coming in contact with it. 2. Cleaning Chemicals The home needs to be cleaned; there’s no going around that. This is why so many people who suffer from migraines report needing to choose what cleaning products they bring into the home carefully. If you cannot leave the space for some reason, it is highly recommended that people take the time to make sure that the room is well ventilated. 3. Cigarette smoke According to studies, half of the migraines people report are due to the presence of a strong order.
